Here's another "secret"!
Outside the Mexican Consulate/Embassy there is a lady who sells delicious, super cheap, homemade tamales...out of a garbage bag/shopping cart. I think she is only there during the warmer months, for lunch on weekdays. I think she only charges $1/tamale...something crazy like that.

As a former East Harlemite, I have to mention that if you are looking for authentic warm, yummy tamales out of a garbage bag/shopping cart set up, go to E 116th btw Lex and 3rd any Saturday/Sunday morning. They are everywhere and they smell so good!
